What data we collect
Account data — When you sign in via GitHub OAuth we receive your GitHub username, display name, and email address. We store this to identify your account and to attribute projects to you.
Error events — Your application sends error events (stack traces, browser/runtime metadata, and any custom context you attach) to our ingest endpoint. We store these to power the grouping, GitHub-issue, and repair-note features.
Usage data — We log basic request metadata (timestamp, project ID, event volume) to enforce plan limits and to generate your usage dashboard. We do not use third-party analytics on the dashboard.
Billing data — Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your raw card number. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
Where data is stored
Error events and account data are stored in a Turso (libSQL) database hosted on infrastructure in the United States. Source maps and attachments are stored in Cloudflare R2 (U.S. data centers by default). We do not currently offer EU-region data residency — if this is a requirement, contact us before signing up.
Retention period
Error events are retained for 90 days on the Free plan and 365 days on Pro and Team plans. Resolved or archived events may be purged earlier at our discretion to manage storage costs.
Account data is retained until you delete your account. After deletion we purge your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records for tax purposes).
How we use your data
We use your data to:
- Provide the Patchly service (grouping, GitHub-issue creation, repair notes)
- Enforce plan limits and generate usage reporting
- Send transactional emails (error alerts, billing receipts) — no marketing email without opt-in
- Improve the AI repair-note quality using aggregated, anonymised patterns
We do not sell your data to third parties.
Your rights
You may request a copy of all data we hold about you, request corrections, or request deletion by emailing hello@patchly.cc with the subject line "Data request". We respond within 30 days. EU/EEA residents also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie for authentication (set by Better Auth). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The marketing site has no third-party analytics scripts.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be announced via the changelog and emailed to active subscribers at least 14 days before taking effect.
